HÉ FĒN MATCH

Privacy policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

This policy explains how Kojent Partners (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use Hé Fēn Match, including its testing builds and the Chain, Classic and Trio games.

What stays on your device

Your chosen display name, avatar, tile style, preferences, progress and saved boards are stored on your device. You do not need to enter an email address or create a password to play. Match does not offer camera scanning, photo uploads, messaging or multiplayer play.

Information processed when you play

The app creates anonymous installation and Firebase authentication identifiers. “Anonymous” means these are not your name; they still let us recognise activity from the same installation.

We use this information to operate and improve the app, diagnose problems, understand difficulty and engagement, evaluate game recommendations, protect the service from misuse and measure install campaigns. The app sends periodic activity signals while it is open. Gameplay events are queued locally when offline and can be sent when a connection returns.

Service providers and sharing

Google Firebase provides anonymous authentication and backend services. Firebase Analytics receives gameplay and interaction events for analytics and campaign measurement. Google and our hosting providers process technical information needed to deliver these services.

Google AdMob handles advertisements. Its SDK can collect and share device or advertising identifiers, IP-based approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Collection depends on the device, consent and SDK settings. Test releases use Google test ad identifiers; the SDK is still present.

Apple, Google Play and Expo provide app distribution, testing and updates and may process installation, device and diagnostic information under their own policies. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect the service. We do not sell personal information for monetary payment.

See Google’s privacy policy, Firebase privacy information, Apple’s privacy policy and Expo’s privacy policy.

Advertisements and privacy choices

Where applicable, the app presents advertising-consent choices. You can revisit available choices through Settings and manage advertising identifiers in your device settings. On iOS, you may refuse tracking permission without losing access to the games. Some technical and gameplay analytics are collected independently of personalised-advertising choices.

Purchases

Purchases are not configured in the initial test release. The app includes purchase-management software, but with its service keys unset the purchase service is inactive. We will update these disclosures before enabling purchases. We do not receive payment-card details.

Retention and security

Our detailed Match play-event records are scheduled for automatic deletion after thirteen calendar months. Live presence records expire after one day. Expiry is enforced by background deletion, so removal is not instantaneous. You can request deletion earlier using the instructions below. Other technical, support and service-provider records are retained as needed for their purposes, legal requirements and provider retention settings. Local progress remains on your device until removed or reset. Uninstalling the app does not itself erase records already held by us or service providers.

App telemetry and the Firebase and advertising services use encrypted network connections. No system can promise absolute security. Service providers may process information outside your country.

Your rights and deleting data

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict processing, request a copy, withdraw consent or complain to your local data-protection authority. Where applicable, we rely on consent for consent-based advertising and tracking, and legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the app for operational processing.

In updated versions, open Settings → Your play data → DELETE PLAY DATA. Confirming removes identifiable Match play records held by us and submits the associated Google Analytics deletion request. Collection of Match play data stays off on that installation. Offline or unfinished requests retry; Google processes accepted requests asynchronously. Local progress, saved boards and purchases are unaffected. We keep a minimal anonymous suppression record and authentication identity to prevent re-upload, and completed deletion-job records expire after 30 days. Anonymous aggregate statistics remain.

Earlier test versions show ASK TO DELETE instead. Use that action to share the anonymous ID in an email to hello@hefenmahjong.com. You may also contact us if an in-app request cannot complete. We use the ID to locate your records and may ask for information needed to verify the request. Advertising privacy choices are separate. See our data-deletion page for full instructions.

Children

Match is not specifically directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without any required parental consent, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Changes and contact

We may revise this policy as the app develops. The update date appears above. For privacy or support questions, contact Kojent Partners at hello@hefenmahjong.com.
